Course Format: Livestream to a virtual classroom
Days: Monday through Friday

This will be a virtual course; however, it requires that all students to attend the live broadcast to a zoom classroom from 9 – 1 ET. This means students will receive a Zoom link allowing them to be in the Zoom classroom M – F, using Zoom. All students must have their computer camera turned-on so HOPE can: (1) see your face to verify you are present and for the entire class; and (2) see that you are actively engaged in the course. You must meet these requirements and pass the exams to receive a certificate of successful completion.
RCA Course Schedule

Course Attendance Requirements

Student are required to be visible (computer camera turned on) to HOPE instructors M – F from 9 – 1. There are no exceptions to this requirement

Students are required to attend all course sessions, pass exams, complete evaluations, timely completion of home assignments and affidavits.

Students who have earned a bachelor’s degree and do not require a HOPE certificate can miss a day(s) but will not receive a certificate of completion.

Should an absence be unavoidable and subject to the advance approval of HOPE; the missed class may be approved and would require student to review the recording and provide the evaluation for proof of viewing prior to testing for the end of the course.
General Student Requirements

An Internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to handle video and voice without buffering

A desktop or laptop computer with camera offers the best classroom experience

A tablet with an integrated camera capable to connect with the Internet

Important Information

An Administrator-in-training (AIT) is the second step required to become a licensed administrator. HOPE’s HFA & RCA course is not a substitute for the required AIT.

Finding a preceptor can be difficult and HOPE does not provide preceptors and completion of its course does not guarantee individuals will be able find a preceptor.

HOPE’s HFA & RCA course is optional to individuals with at least a bachelor’s degree

An Indiana residential care administrator (RCA) is licensed and may be the administrator of a licensed residential care facility which may be called a licensed assisted living facility
-
An Indiana healthcare facility administrator (HFA) is licensed and may be the administrator of either: an Indiana skilled nursing facility, nursing home or an Indiana residential care facility.

If you are working in a nursing home or assisted living community that is a HOPE member and if that nursing home or assisted living community is paying for your course, you will be eligible for the special discounted member fee. Individuals are not eligible to be members of HOPE.

100% Refund: Written cancellation notice received by September 24, 2023
90% Refund: Written notice of intend to withdrawal is received by September 27, 2023
80% Refund: Withdrawal from course beginning on September 27th – September 30th
